We finally found the 12,000 level yesterday with Dax futures reaching a high of 12,053. As it is NFP today, I would normally expect for price action to consolidate into a more narrow range until the release. And we are currently trading at that 12,000 level right now on futures. Dax Technical Analysis Video Hourly Dax Technical Analysis We have broken below the second upsloping low to low trend-line. I am wondering whether this may open up a move back towards the 930 zone. This move would be considered simple action/reaction. You could draw an ACR line set using that second line as the centre to predict a pullback target. I think that a retracement is now much higher probability, […]

Good morning traders. The dispute over the design of Brexit has plunged the government of Prime Minister Theresa May into a deep crisis. According to traders, scenarios such as a second referendum, new elections or a tough Brexit have become more likely. Above all, investors fear negative effects on the European economy. The ongoing dispute over the Italian budget also causes them a headache. So the headlines, once again, provide a distraction from the markets as trader look to see how this will affect their positions. I will admit that I get a bit caught up with the media frenzy sometimes. When it’s like this, I tend to prefer to just watch the price action and take a back step.  For example, take […]

15-11-2018 DAX 30 Analysis Daily The DAX30 posted another outside bar yesterday (higher and lower than the previous day). However, the price closed only around 25 points lower than the open, roughly in the middle of the range, creating a spinning top candle. The main observation is that we failed to break the high and failed to break the low of the Monday range, so no direction is visible yet. The benefit of days like yesterday are that you can be rewarded with multiple momentum trades, like we saw on the DaxTrader Scalper strategy (broadcasted live throughout the day to members), which we will see further below. Hourly The neat series of lower low and lower highs was broken yesterday. […]

14-11-2018 DAX 30 Analysis Daily The DAX30 posted a slightly-bullish inside-day yesterday, closing in the bottom half of Monday’s range. This morning we have already taken out yesterday’s low and are targeting the Monday low of 297 (CFD). Hourly The trend remains bearish with lower lows and lower highs clearly visible on the hourly chart and the trend defining level is 597. If 297 is taken out, then the trend defining level is 493. So assuming that the trend continues, traders will be looking for shorts under 493. The Price Action Today, we opened up inside yesterday’s value area and tested the value area high within the first five minutes. The price was quickly rejected and within the first hour […]

Morning traders. Yesterday was quite quiet for me on the trading front, because I have been working on my volume profile analysis video library for members. I have also been working on fine tuning my Dax, FTSE, DOW and EuroStoxx strategy to be able to share it with members who are Sierra Chart users. So to summarise the day yesterday, we closed -2% lower after seeing a bearish wide-range-outside-bar on the daily chart (I have written a little about wide-range-outside-bars below), Brexit and Apple weighed on sentiment. The volume profile analysis video library will be a comprehensive collection of tutorials sharing my methods and techniques around the use of volume profile analysis. It will start from the basics and the […]

09-11-2018 DAX Key Levels

Morning traders. The DAX finished up around 1.2% lower yesterday after a pretty bearish day which failed to take out the previous day’s high AND broke and closed below the previous day’s low. That leaves the market around 0.3% down for the week and 0.8% down for the month so far. It was a similar story for most of the European and American indices. Some traders were interested in the daily candle stick pattern from Tuesday, suggesting that the long tail and tiny candle body is a buying signal, but if we fail to hold the Tuesday low (431 on CFD), it’s not looking quite so positive. On the daily chart, we have broken below the daily upsloping low-to-low trend […]

Morning traders. A bit of a mixed bag for me yesterday, we had a really nice FTSE trade which hit target, but were left disappointed with three small DAX stop losses. Overall it could have been worse, so we’ll draw a line under it and move on.  To find out more about these, click here: https://thedaxtrader.co.uk/daxtrader-signals-results/ 428 5-Nov FTSE L 7101 7090 7135 3.09% TP 34 1.23% 30,885 429 5-Nov DAX S 11495 11519 11423 3.00% SL -24 -0.50% 30,731 430 5-Nov ESTOXX L 3223 3215 3248 3.13% BE 0 0.00% 30,731 431 5-Nov GBPUSD S 1.30079 1.305 1.2825 4.34% 1.29829 25 0.20% 30,792 432 5-Nov DAX L 11544 11519 11616 2.88% SL -25 -0.50% 30,638 433 5-Nov DAX L 11544 […]

European futures pointed to a mixed open today as traders digested the results of the most recent European Banking Authority (EBA) stress tests for banks. In the UK British banking giants Barclays and Lloyds had the lowest capital ratio, according to the EBA analysis. Deutsche Bank scored among the ten worst banks in the latest round of European stress tests, yet another sign of weakness at Germany’s largest lender. Under the test’s toughest “adverse” scenario, Germany’s flagship lender’s core capital ratio was 8.1 percent for 2020, placing it in 40th place out of 48 lenders measured. In the 2016 test, the capital level of Deutsche Bank dropped to 7.8 percent, ranking it tenth from the bottom from a health check for 51 lenders. Some […]
